About

Marjo Hallila, visual artist, Finland.

I am fascinated by expressions created with minimal elements. I am also curious to play with different materials and simple elements such as line squares, points or circles. Abstract way of working has always been characteristic for me. Furthermore, my main interests include installations, concepts and conceptual art. Experimental work and multi-materiality are essential parts of my working methods; the unpredictable processes are intriguing. Various possibilities and combinations lead to think that perhaps the question is always, in the end, about creating and finding opportunities. Intuition, feelings and impressions have an important role in my working processes. In general, I am interested in such concepts as time, space, light and layers.
